#techtiptuesday – PASSWORDS: THE GOOD, THE BAD, AND THE UGLY

March 4, 2025 by First Aid

When it comes to creating secure passwords, following best practices is crucial to safeguard your online accounts.

THE GOOD:

Good passwords, such as “P@ssw0rd123,” are lengthy and include a mix of letters, numbers, and symbols. It’s vital to have a distinct strong password for each online account to prevent easy breaches. Using a password manager to generate and store complex passwords securely is highly recommended.

THE BAD:

On the flip side, bad passwords like “password,” “123456,” or those based on personal information like birthdays or pet names, pose significant security risks.

THE UGLY:

Avoid using easily guessable patterns or phrases, such as “qwerty” or “ilovemydog.”

*Remember, never reuse passwords, opt for two-factor authentication for added security, and utilize a password manager to keep your login credentials safe. Stay vigilant and proactive in ensuring the protection of your online presence.
